I had a hard time looking for that perfect lunch box for my son. I have tried numerous lunch boxes and I always ended up finding a flaw.

Currently, Goodbyn lunchbox is the best far yet I have. It has ears or tabs at the top of the lunchbox to allow for easy opening. It’s build in handle allows for easy carrying. With different compartments, its perfect for leftovers, sliced apples, oranges and the top part fits a banana perfectly! IT also fits stacked sandwich that is halves, bagel, pasta salad, chips, yogurt or cereal.
Great for dips, sauces, vegetables, crackers, nuts, berries, or dried fruit.

It also come with an 8-ounce plastic bottle. Awesome! awesome! Completely eliminates the need for juice boxes. Pack juice, water, or even salad dressing for your salad using the plastic bottle.

Sticker set – this is the icing on the top Each Goodbyn lunch box comes with two sheets of stickers so kids can design their own lunch box!

It’s sold for $29.99, plus taxes it came out to be CAD 33.59. Not bad for a nice lunch kit with different compartments. To top it all, it’s a trash free lunch box, and is good for the environment.

Wait, here the only problem I have with this lunch box. It’s not easy to close the top lid. It’s easy to open but not easy to close. I’ve had several cases when the left over snack spills inside my son’s bag because he was not able to properly close the lid. I myself is having a difficulty time closing the lid.

Recently, I came a cross with this lunchbox from the website Today I ate a rainbow. I am a fan of this website. I love exploring new ideas on how to feed my son healthy food.

The lunch box is called Go Green lunch box. It is very similar to the Goodbyn lunchbox except that is has a case. I am planning of buying this lunch box. It’s $44.99 plus shipping and taxes. All together, I am looking at a whooping $60 for a new lunch kit.IF… I buy it in Canada. If I order it online from a Seattle based store named Eat your greens I am looking to spend about USD$43. That’s not too bad at all.

This is how the Go Green lunch box looks like.

Do you own a Go Green lunch box? Can you please let me know how it is before I spend my $$$.

Thanks!

Friday, January 27 – I picked up Jed from school after his floor hockey class. He was sweating like a pig. Minutes later inside the car, I can smell a stray cat. To my surprise it’s Jed. I told him as soon as we get home, he needs to take a rest and he needs to get a bath. Finally he took a shower and he smell wonderful.

Saturday, January 28 – we had to go to Washington, USA to visit a friend and see my Aunt. It has been a long since since I saw my good friend Joy and her family. Her youngest son was my Godson and the last time I saw him was in December when I had to drop by for a quick visit. It was brief and short visit. It was nice to see Jayden all grown up. At six months he is so adorable. His big brother Jordan knew most of his letters and numbers. For a two year old, I am pretty amazed by him. He gave me lots of kisses and hugs. Jordan and Jed had a good time playing.

Visiting my Aunt in Marysville is something me and Jed always looks forward to. We love their cats. Yes you heard me right “CATS” plural. They have more than one. They have three cats and one dog. Amongst the three cats Ranger is my favorite. Jed was very adamant of asking for a pet, my aunt having a dog and three cats is like a solution to my problem. Pets are not allowed in our building, thus Jed cannot have his own pet. But, he can play with then whenever we visit.

This is ranger.

Sunday, January 29 – Jed woke up with a fever and has been coughing a lot. I suspect his asthma is starting to act up. I did not allow him to play his Wii nor his 3DS. I made him rest the entire day. I fed him chicken noodle soup and gave him some tylenol for his fever. I don’t think I will be able to go to work tomorrow. It’s 10PM and his temperature is still burning.

Monday, January 30 – Jed’s temperature is still high. I decided to work from home.At around 10AM I decided to take him to the walk-in clinic. Our family doctor is 20 mins away from us and I do not have a car right now. The walk in clinic is $10 by taxi so I decided to take this route. The doctor gave us another ventolin and an antibiotic. My suspicion was right, his asthma is acting once again. As soon as we get home I gave his antibiotic and his ventolin (we fondly call them his puffer). Ten minutes after Jed took his antibiotic he started throwing up, then came the diarrhea and then nose bleed. I was in panic the entire evening. I swear I did not sleep at all.

Tuesday, January 31 – I called the office and took the day off. I called our family doctor and explained to him what is going on. Jed still have fever, he is still vomiting, he’s got diarrhea, his nose is bleeding and he’s coughing every 2 minutes. (Yes, I timed his coughing. I do this so I know if he is having a hard time breathing). They asked us to come to his office. In 20 minutes, I was there. He had asked us to stop the antibiotic and he gave another puffer (Flo vent) to help him from his cough. Dr. Lui said, the vomiting and diarrhea is a reaction to his antibiotic so he wants us to stop it immediately. I was so exhausted and was hoping that Jed will feel better.

I have been motivated lately to do crafts and possibly turn them into something profitable. This motivation started through encouragement by my mom, my aunt and my friend’s mom. Being a left handed person, I knew I am artistic and creative but procrastination would sometimes get in and then I’d loose that creativity in me.

When I was in Elementary School, there is a subject called Music, Arts and PE (Physical Education). I always consider them as one of the subjects I love, besides Science (my number one favourite of all time) and English. Arts is my favourite amongst the three. I always look forward to doing a project every week. There’s always this excitement whenever I write down on my notebook the things that I needed to bring for Arts. Fresh from my memory I remember bringing construction paper, old crayons, candle and a spoon. We would melt the old crayons in the spoon using the flame of the candle and turn the liquid crayons into something wonderful.

My mom runs a variety store and I clearly remember asking her to always buy a different brand of typewriting paper for me because I wanted to use the “Corona” whose texture and quality is way better than the ones commonly sold. I always make sure that I have enough glue and two sets of scissors in my bag just in case I loose one I have a back up.

In September of last year, I offered Kaye to get her daughter’s First birthday’s favours. Both Kaye and I have been admiring the creativity of turning towels or washcloth into a cake, lollipop and cupcake. With our admiration for towel cakes, Kaye decided to choose the lollipop towels for her daughter’s favours.

She sent me the link of the online store where to get the lollipop towels. To my surprise, each towel will cost me $3.25 per piece if I ordered 80 pieces. Shipping and taxes not included. It was something that is totally out of my budget, but I don’t want to disappoint her as well.

I knew I can do the lollipop towel without spending that much! There’s gotta be something out there. I don’t really want to disappoint her.So I did a little bit of research and viola! I found a lady that sells tutorials on several items out of towels and diapers. The name of her shop is Diaper Cakes she sells video tutorials on how to make the lollipop towels and a whole lot of other unique pieces. She even has a free tutorial on what type of washcloth to get and where to get them. Isn’t that awesome?

Here is the photo of my first attempt of doing the lollipop towel. I was not able to purchase a striped washcloth so I was using a plain colour instead.

I am proud to be born from the Philippines!

My cultural heritage has made me who I am today. In my heart and in my soul lives the values and morals I grew up with.

Philippines is a country with a rich history. A tropical paradise with so much to discover. It has a long history of political independence. The Philippines is a haven of talented individuals and hard working pioneers. The tropical climate and beautiful natural resources makes the country famous for. Around the world, there is always a filipino immigrant and in the heart of a filipino the Philippines will always be his home.

I saw this video about the tourism in the Philippines and it gives me goosebumps all over. It made me realize how beautiful the Philippines is and how I wanted to go back and visit all these wonderful places.

There are three versions of this video and all of them makes me proud of where I came from and how I long to come home to my beloved country.

I have been addicted to crafting and tons of DIY stuff for sometime now. I am planning to use a lot of these items as gifts to family and friends. I also intend to use some of the crafts I made as giveaways for my son’s schoolmates. The kids would love some of them and they are useful too. All of this addiction was due to this website I came across on Etsy. It’s called Topsy Turvy Diaper Cake here is the link to her website www.diapercakepatterns.com

Here are some of her creations that I am currently working on.

Topsy Turvy Cake

I love the carrot cake towel. It’s a fun DIY project and makes as an excellent gift for baby shower or welcoming a new born baby. For a small fee you will receive a password to acess an instruction video on how to do the cake. It is so worth it.
